World War II Home Front

People on tram - 40s dress

Step back in time to Britain on the Home Front with re-enactors, live music and vehicles from the early 1940s. Vintage trams will mingle with vehicles on display and on the move. Children can take part in a 'Boot camp' with Sergeant Major Marmite - If they dare!   Collect your ration book, and look out for Spivs operating in the street! Horse Tram Day

In addition to our vintage electric trams, our Sheffield 15 Horse Tram will be in operation between 11am and 4pm (with a break for the horse's lunch 1pm - 2pm). This horse tram was built in 1874 and is one of the oldest exhibits at Crich Tramway Village. If you wish to ride on the horse tram, there is a small cost of £1.00 per person payable at the tram stop.
