Adventure Play Area

A new children’s outdoor play area is to be installed at Crich Tramway Village in time for the new season in March 2016.

Wicksteed Playgrounds have been appointed to supply and install most of the elements, which include a Mordred castle, swings, see-saw, twister, zip wire and pick- up sticks.

The new elements will complement the existing ‘Trim Trail’ but the outdated slide and swings will be removed.

The outdoor play area is situated near to the Woodland Walk and Sculpture Trail and will provide more facilities for older children visiting Crich Tramway Village.

Jan Barratt, Learning and Participation Manager said:

“We have planned the new play area carefully to help encourage active play and team participation, which will complement our learning and trail activities for children”.

The Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Amber Valley, Councillor Trevor Ainsworth, will open the new play area on Monday 21st March 2016.

Simon Burke from Wicksteed Playgrounds said:

“Wicksteeds are very pleased to be able to assist and work with the Crich Tramway Village in improving their outdoor play area – the equipment has been carefully selected to offer a wide and varied range of new play opportunities for all ages of visitors to the Village. We look forward to starting our installation schedule within the new year and with excitement, the opening event on the 21st March”.
