Sam, our new conductor

Sam Smith has just completed his training and passed his test to become a tram conductor.

Sam, aged 16 from Derby, is a student at Friesland School in Sandiacre, Nottingham and although training for nearly a year, had to stop to make time to take his exams.

He is a regular volunteer at Crich Tramway Village, generally working in the Workshop, and now he can add the role of conductor to his activities.

Sam said: “I’ve been interested in trams since I was a child and I came to Crich Tramway Village. I’m thrilled to have passed”.
