By Car & Coach

Crich is conveniently situated close to many of the main routes running through the Midlands. This makes it readily accessible from Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham and beyond. By Public Transport

The nearest railway station is Whatstandwell, from which it is a steep uphill walk of about 1 mile. Alternatively, there are railway stations, at Belper, Matlock and Alfreton through which East Midlands Railway operate regular trains to and from Derby. These stations are reachable by a local bus service. Please note that there is no ramp at the platform nor accessible toilets at Alfreton station. The Museum has a bus stop directly outside the entrance. Buses run from Matlock (140), Ripley (141), Alfreton (140 / 143a) and Belper (142). Unfortunately the Sunday and Bank Holiday 140 / 141 Bus Service to Crich no longer operates. Click here for bus details.
