Horse Tram Day

Horse Tram

Come along and see Joseph the Shire horse pull our 1874 Sheffield 15 horse tram running between 11 am - 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm. Modest additional charge to ride on this tram of £1.00 per person (adults and children). Other vintage electric trams will also be in operation at no additional charge.

Whetstone Mode

Due to popular demand, the R Whetstone models will be running on a section of track on display in the Great Exhibition Hall and will show a range of tramcars not represented in the full scale tramcar collection on the following dates: Sunday 17th June 2018 (Father's Day) Sunday 8th July 2018 Saturday 18th - Sunday 19th August 2018 (Models Week-end) Saturday 1st September 2018 (Simply Trams Day) Sunday 14th October 2018.

Father’s Day

Bring your father to Crich Tramway Village for a Lunchtime Special and unlimited rides on vintage trams. Our popular horse tram will also be running between 11.00am and 1.00pm and between 2.00pm  and 4.00pm. Rides on the horse tram will cost £1.00 per person (adults and children). The Whetstone model trams will also be in operation in the Exhibition Hall.

Classic Motorcycle Event

Classic Motorcycles

This event is being organised in conjunction with the Vincent Owners Club, and is for motorcycles built prior to January 1992. There will also be a Best Bike Award as voted by the public visiting Crich Tramway Village on the day. Visitors will be able to admire classic bikes of many different ages and makes and enjoy seeing them bring ridden on The Street alongside classic trams from our Collection. Edwardian Event

Following the continued popularity of our Edwardian Event, it will be repeated in 2018, including some World War I anniversary elements. As well as re-enactors, who will create a Suffragette Rally, there will be talks around themes such as gas warfare, grenades, the work of women and fashion from the period. Don't miss the Old Time Music Hall, featuring Tommies Tunes and audience participation. All those dressing in Edwardian costume will receive group rates for the daytime entrance and activities.

World War II – Home Front Event

Step back in time to the 1940s with our World War II- Home front event, which returns for two days. Vintage trams will mix with military vehicles and re-enactors, while wartime fayre will be served in Rita's Tearooms and the Red Lion Pub will offer drinks and traditional pub games. War time songs will be performed by live performers. To complete the nostalgia, there will be a 'Boot Camp' for children. Re-enactors, Veterans and Vehicles need to be pre-booked.
