Join the Fun and Get Creative! Come and be inspired by the amazing views towards Crich Stand.

We’re hosting a series of art workshops to celebrate Cliff Quarry, Crich, by offering free admission in July to all Crich
residents. Proof of address will be needed on entry.
There will be a series of workshops during the weekends in July for anyone who wishes to create a piece of art work or learn new art techniques. The theme is capturing the character and beauty of Cliff Quarry and the Tramway environment.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
All workshops will take place in a quiet grassy area above the Bandstand opposite the quarry face.

Margaret Bazely, Willow Sculptor. Sunday 11th July & Saturday & July 17th. 2.00pm- 4.00pm.
This will involve sculpting with natural willow where participants can make items such as a small animal, a sphere,

plant support, a wreath or tension trays.
Price is £20 including materials and printed instructions. 6 places are available.

Saturday 3rd July and Sunday 4th July. 10.30am – 12.30pm.

This is a drop in session, sculpting with natural willow. People can make a small item and pay for their art work.
Prices: Magic wand is £3. The following items are £5 each: Fish on a rod , a heart, a dragonfly, a bird feeder.
Booking is not necessary, just turn up during the available time.

David Hunns, Artist. Saturdays June 26th, July 17th and July 24th. 10.00am – 12.00pm and 1.00pm – 3.00pm.
Price: £3 per person or £10 per family.
Drop in Sessions where individuals have the freedom to explore and create their own artwork under guidance. Materials provided. Booking not necessary, just turn up during the available time.

Denise Cliffen, Artist. Sundays June 27th , July 11th and 18th July. 2.00pm – 4.00pm.
This is an introductory workshop to pastel painting landscapes. There will be a demonstration of how to work in pastels, focusing on the quarry, followed by a practical workshop session. All Materials provided.
Price: £10 per person. 10 places available.

There will be a demonstration followed by a practical activity with participant’s own materials. Please bring your own paper/sketchbook/ canvas and whichever materials you wish to work in.

Dr. Andrew Smith. Geologist. Saturday July 10th. 1.00pm – 2.00pm & 4.00pm – 5.00pm.
This is a talk called a “Slice through Time”. It focusses on the formation of Cliff Quarry over millions of years. Fossils will be on display and available to photograph and make rubbings.
Price: Free. Booking is not necessary.

Jonathan Amos, Photographer. Sunday 25th July, 2 workshops: 1.00pm- 2.30pm and 3.00pm – 4.30pm
How to use light and shade in landscape photography. Bring your own camera.
The participants will be able to photograph aspects of Cliff Quarry and features around the Tramway Village such as the woodland walk, views over Derwent valley and the Tramway Museum.
