An opportunity to win a pair of hospitality tickets for the home match between Sheffield United and Charlton Athletic on Saturday 18th March 2017, kick-off at 3.00pm.

For many decades, until the ‘Last Tram’ in 1960, Sheffield’s trams were a popular form of transport for the thousands of fans attending football matches. The black and white photograph shows a line-up of ‘Football Specials’ waiting, on 27th March 1954, to take happy fans home after a 2-1 home win over Burnley.

Whilst the Sheffield tram system of the 1950s no longer exists, several of the trams that were in use then have survived and can be seen (and sometimes ridden on) at Crich Tramway Village, just down the road in Derbyshire. The colour photograph shows a recent line-up of some of our Sheffield trams at Crich.

Sheffield United Football Club have kindly presented us with two Football Hospitality tickets for their match with Charlton Athletic on Saturday 18th March, and we are offering you the chance to win these.
Just write a slogan (of not more than 30 words) linking the two photographs and send it by mail, or email, marked ‘Football’ before 12:00 midday on Friday 24th February 2017. See the bottom of our website www.tramway.co.uk for our postal and email addresses, and don’t forget to include a return address with your entry.

The prize is for two tickets for the Tony Currie Suite at Sheffield United and the package includes:
– Pre-match hot buffet meal in the presence of Club Legend Tony Currie
– Match day programme and team sheet
– Licensed betting facilities
– Luxury cinema style padded seats indoor
– Dedicated waiting and customer care staff
– Soup, tea and coffee at the half-time interval
– Tea and coffee after the match
– Competitions and prizes
– Pay-bar facility with a full range of beverages

Terms and conditions:  Judging will be done by a panel from Crich Tramway Village and winners will be notified within five days of the closing date. Where more than one person produces the same winning slogan, a draw will be made to select the winner. The Judges’ decision is final and the results will be announced on our website and Facebook page. The winner agrees to have their name published as the winner. Tickets are not transferable – please ensure you are available to attend on the day. Only one entry per person.

Good luck!
