Do you know what a well dressing is?

Do you know the history of well dressing in Derbyshire?

Do you know what materials are used?

Would you like to help us make our well dressing?

This year the theme is water, so we will be featuring our tramcar Cardiff 131 in the picture depicted through this local tradition of well dressing.

Throughout the week 11-15 July we will be puddling, pricking and petalling our well dressing, all part of the process required to create a visually attractive feature.  It will then be taken to the Market Place in Crich for the blessing on Saturday 16 July.

The well dressing will be on display at the Museum throughout the following week.
