Leeds City Tramways 345 (2002)

Built in 1922 and saved from the scrapyard in 1958, Leeds 345 has been restored and was launched with due ceremony on Saturday 1st April 2006 at 2pm and has now joined the Operating Fleet.
Built at Leeds Kirkstall works, entered service in 1925.
Sheffield Transport Department 510
Entered service in 1950, withdrawn in 1960. 510 took part in a farewell tour in its home city in October 1960.
Leeds Corporation Transport 600
Acquired second-hand from Sunderland this car saw only three years' service in Leeds and arrived at Crich in 1960. Presently in our Museum Store and not on display.
Entered service in Leeds on 1st June 1953. The only car at Crich with VAMBAC (Variable Automatic Multinotch Braking & Acceleration Control) which combines gentle acceleration with high speed.
New York Third Avenue Transit 674
No. 674 is the only American tram in the collection at Crich and was built in 1939.
Glasgow Corporation Transport 812
Built in 1900 as an open top tram, 812 acquired a top cover with open balconies ten years later and platform vestibules within a further two years.
Liverpool Corporation Passenger Transport 869
Built in 1936, sold to Glasgow in 1954, withdrawn in 1960.
This tram is from Halle near Leipzig in East Germany.
Glasgow Corporation Transport 1100
1100 entered service in 1928 and is presently in our Museum Store and not on display.
Glasgow Corporation Transport 1115
Withdrawn from service in Glasgow in 1961, Glasgow 1115 is now on display at Crich.
A European styled example of a USA design classic PCC (Presidents Conference Committe) car built under licence by La Brugeoise, Belgium in 1957.

Glasgow Corporation Transport 1297
Built in 1948 and withdrawn from service in 1962, 1297 took part in the ceremonial closing procession in Glasgow.
London Passenger Transport Board 1622
Represents the "rehabilitated" E1 London trams of the 1930s.
The AccessTram is a 1969 Berlin tram which has been adapted to carry wheelchairs.
New South Wales Government Steam Tram
Built in 1885 by Beyer Peacock of Manchester and exported to Sydney, Australia as a demonstartor. On display.
Built by J G Brill Company Philadelphia USA in 1906 snow broom tramcars are designed to remove snow from the tram tracks. 96 is a standard Brill product used throughtout the USA, and widely exported, Leeds had 5 similar vehicles modified for left hand running.

Sheffield Transport Department 330
Built in 1919 No. 330 performed duties as a Rail Grinder, also being employed to flush grit and sediment from the track grooves in dry weather.
Employed as 'The Welding Truck' at Crich. A 4 wheeled trailer with hand brake, originally hauled by Glasgow Corporation Mains Department Cable Car number 1 to carry drums of electric cables for underground installation. On arrival at Crich it was modified to transport a welding machine powered by a 600-volt dc motor, tools and equipment used to install and maintain trackwork.
Converted from an AEC Regent double deck bus numbered 310 of 1937 originally with a 55 seat Weyman body. The tower wagon was used to maintain the overhead line and emergency engineering support to the tramcar fleet stayed in service after the closure of the tramway system being employed to cut back overhanging tree branches on bus routes, passing to the Museum in 1969. Presently in our Museum Store and not on display.

Built by English Electric in 1927.
Ruston and Hornsby Limited Class 20DL Diesel Locomotive 'Rupert'
A 16/20 horse powered locomotive built in 1934, little is known about the pre 1963 history, the year it arrived at Crich, other than possible use in a sand quarry. Originally built for 600mm gauge track it was re-gauged to standard gauge (1435mm) at its last owner in Leeds and is believed to be the smallest standard gauged diesel locomotive still in regular use.
This car was built in 1932 from parts of other trams.
Trailer unit, used for construction and maintenance of the Museum's overhead wire system. Built at Crich c.1975 using a second-hand tower and ex Blackpool wheelsets.
