Life at Crich Tramway Village is rich and varied, illustrated by the wide range of events and special occasions we hold throughout the year. Our famous Transport Extravaganza and weekend recreations of the 1940's and Edwardian Era all add their own unique atmosphere to Crich Tramway Village and the many car rallies are very popular among classic vehicle owners.

Ambulances, fire engines and Police cars from days gone by gather for a nostalgic parade.

1940s Weekend - 8th & 9th [Premier Event*]
Relive the Home Front with rationing and air raids. Special reduced rate for those in forties costume.(No German, Japanese or Axis costumes please)
Only PREBOOKED vehicles will be admitted onto the Museum site. Any unbooked vehicles, will be asked to park in the main car park as space is at a premium

Transport Extravaganza - 30th & 31st [Premier Event*]
A true celebration of transport with hundreds of exhibits, stalls and models. Vehicle convoys parade down Tramway Street. Fairground rides and family entertainment.

Beetle Drive - 6th
A Volkswagen event with a difference! See a host of old and new Beetles, camper vans, trade stalls, street parades, Show n Shine and children's entertainment. Special rate for pre-booked vehicles.
Classic Ford Event - 20th
A celebration of Classic Fords with special rates for pre-booked vehicles, trade stalls, street parades and lots more.

Starlight Halloween - 31st
A Halloween spectacular with illuminations, witches, ghosts and trams in the dark. Spooky! Open until 9pm, last admission 6pm.

Easter 1940s Weekend - 12th and 13th [Premier Event*]
Back to the war years this weekend with military vehicles, soldiers and civilians. All guests handed an I.D card and ration book on arrival to prevent spys. See the trams ready for war with street re-enactments throughout the day.

May 2009
Models Weekend - 9th and 10th
A fantastic display of transport in miniature, including model trams, railways, road transport and Meccano.
Morris Minor Event - 10th
A celebration of this British classic with clubs stands, street parades and lots more.
50 Years at Crich - 23rd to the 25th
A chance to celebrate 50 years of the National Tramway Museum.
