Events Calendar 2008

Life at Crich Tramway Village is rich and varied, illustrated by the wide range of events and special occasions we hold throughout the year. Our famous Transport Extravaganza and weekend recreations of the 1940's and Edwardian Era all add their own unique atmosphere to Crich Tramway Village and the many car rallies are very popular among classic vehicle owners.


May 2008

Models Weekend - 10th & 11th
A fantastic display of transport in miniature, including model trams, railways, road transport and Meccano.


June 2008

Tramathon - 8th
A rare opportunity to see all our working trams running.

Edwardian Weekend - 5th & 6th
Relive the Edwardian period with soldiers, suffragettes, civilians and period vehicles, plus the only chance to ride on our horse tram.

Leylands at Crich - 13th
A wonderful opportunity to see some unique Leyland vehicles. This unique event celebrates the 10th birthday of the Leyland Society and the 100th birthday of the oldest surviving British-built motor bus - the 1908 Leyland X2 from the collection of Mike Sutcliffe, MBE. Transport Extravaganza - 24th & 25th [Premier Event*]
A true celebration of transport with hundreds of exhibits, stalls and models. Vehicle convoys parade down Tramway Street. Fairground rides and family entertainment.

Beetle Drive - 7th
A Volkswagen event with a difference! See a host of old and new Beetles, camper vans, trade stalls, street parades, Show n Shine and children's entertainment. Special rate for pre-booked vehicles.

Starlight Halloween - 25th
A Halloween spectacular with illuminations, witches, ghosts and trams in the dark. Spooky! Open until 9pm, last admission 6pm.

A celebration of Eastern Bloc vehicles including Trabants, Wartburgs and Tatras.

Half Term Opening - 9th - 24th
We are open daily from 9th to 24th February 10.30am - 4.00pm. We have a variety of story telling and craft workshops taking place, please phone for details.

Folk Weekend - 4th & 5th
Folk legend Julie Felix will perform on both days at the 2008 Folk Weekend, plus many other local musicians, with traditional trams, music, and dance throughout the Museum.
