Since the opening of the Learning Centre in July 2011, we have noticed that our visitors are finding it difficult to find the building and are therefore missing out on some amazing family activities during the school holidays. The Learning Department decided that they needed to rectify this problem in time for the school holidays in 2012.
Several ideas were discussed including free standing banners by the doors to the Learning Centre, putting up direction posters around the Museum or handing out directions at Admissions. The main problem is the wonderful British weather. Posters don't stay up in the rain and free standing banners might blow over and onto the tracks in windy weather.
After some thought, the Learning Department had a bright idea and decided to have a big sign made to hang on the building over one of the windows (where it just so happens that there are metal hooks from which the sign can be hung). Great. All the Learning Department needed now was a team of clever and very helpful people to make the sign...
....Thanks to our Workshop staff, the Learning Centre now has a wonderful sign to highlight where the building is and to advertise the wonderful activities that the Museum runs during the school holidays.
